Jay Lyman covers open source software for The 451 Group, focusing on Linux and other open source software created by communities and used by enterprises. My coverage includes the software itself, the communities and the emerging business and licensing models around them. Prior to joining The 451 Group in 2007, I wrote about Linux and open source for LinuxInsider and TechNewsWorld. I also covered open source software communities, development and business as a contributing editor with NewsForge/Linux.com from 2004 to 2006. Covering Linux and open source since 2000 with NewsFactor Network, I have also been a contributor CMP Media, Web Host Industry Review and Small Times, a nanotechnology website and magazine. Prevous industry talks have included a presentation on community Linux in the enterprise market at LinuxWorld 2008 and a preview of what's next for open source at the Linux Plumber's Conference in 2008.
